The Annual Bob Skaggs Memorial Food Drive
The Annual Bob Skaggs Memorial Food Drive is held every fall.
All the donations go to local people through the Grayson County Salvation Army.
The Bob Skaggs Memorial Food Drive in Sherman is going on its 17th year and will be held in the Fall of 2013. It is named after a Van Alstyne man who took vacation every year to volunteer and help with the local annual Thanksgiving food drive. Mr. Bob Skaggs died in an automobile accident in the summer of 2005. Mr. Skaggs originally wanted to help with the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive and would take his vacation each year just to be there during the drive to help. Hutchins Plumbing & A/C was honored to help out in the food drive last year, and will continue to do so each and every year to come. This last year, we were proud to be a part of helping collect three trucks full of food and supplies.
All of the food and cash is turned over to the Grayson County Salvation Army to help with its Thanksgiving and Christmas meal programs.
